AISHI MACHAME Marangu Hotel is a country hotel 6 kms from the Kilimanjaro National Park gate at Marangu. It has been outfitting climbers on Kilimanjaro for over 60 years. All trekking routes are arranged. Situated on the outskirts of Marangu village, this well established hotel is a cut above the rest in terms of comfort but has the appearance of somewhere that was busy once but now needs a bit of a dust. The general ambience is not helped by a rather surly receptionist.A bar and restaurant serving both local and international cuisine. Public areas are not particularly inviting but the grounds are pretty and well tended. As a place to spend the night either side of a Kilimanjaro climb it is fine. AMEG LODGE Based at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Constructed with local Tanzanian building materials and designed to combine antique African and modern contemporary styles creating an articulate and seductive ambiance. Frangipani and palm trees adorn the grounds amidst a variety of colourful tropical plants. There are 20 bedrooms, all en-suite, with twin and double beds. Each room has its own private verandah. All the rooms are furnished to a high standard, offering satellite TVs, phones, fans, and en-suite bathrooms. Of the 20 rooms, 5 are junior suites. In addition to the above amenities, each suite features air-conditioning and unlimited use of the internet.
